Loving the detailing on these pieces from Beatrice K. Newman's graduate show from De Montford University. This 21 year old's knits are a highly creative mix of various techniques, which have produced heavily layered and very ingenious garments. I saw her work when I was flicking through the graduate collections and when I did a search on her I found this interesting interview with her on Knit Kicks, a knitting blog I'd never seen before but which has inspired me to pick up my knitting needles immediately. In the interview she talks of her inspiration (the opulence of the Tsars and 1001 Arabian Nights), why she chose knitwear and her plans now she has finished school.
