What a beauty, the boy is rather lovely too...
It reminds of something from Austen or the Brönte sisters... there's a delicate, very cinematic beauty to it.
Oh...how romantic! I agree that there is something very cinematic about the shot - it suggests forbidden love.
it's the 2 actors from the 60s film rendition of romeo and juliet, that's where the throwback look comes from and the forbidden love...
