George Best is a true folk hero. He came across from Belfast to Manchester United in 1963 bringing his mercurial football genius and unprecedented pop glamour to the game. He is "El Beatle" to the Portuguese and Georgie to a million fans who scrawl their love in lipstick on his E Type. He owns two men's boutiques, one in the Village, the trendiest part of Manchester, and soon a larger one with hairdressing establishment attached, off Market Street. His own hair is fashionably shaggy, cut only by the Village barber, and he's been known to fly home from Spain for a trim. Here he is photographed in his favourite kind of clothes from his own shop - neat, and for now, with plenty of blue, the colour of his eyes.
